Zulu Update

Well it was that time...decals....mine are about 7 years old, and I did not remember how much trouble they are...the decals on the two helmets were pretty difficult to apply....the skull on the silver helmet, is so stinking small....I was like...is this really worth it...I might not even use the stupid thing......but the challenge was there...could I pull it off...

Here are the completed weapons and backpack...the photo does not show the mistakes...which were many..but, I was trying a bunch of different things...and most came out pretty good....but will be better next kit...learning is a slow process...Just make sure you remember the things that work...I am pretty sure I forgot most of the good things already...DOH!

I have 42 more parts to prime...then paint......then clear coat...a reverse wash, and a bunch of hand painting...and more clear coating...Hope to have another Zulu update by next weekend......

Liam is working on a NRX-044 ASSHIMAR E.F.F. prototype transformable mobile armor...I will post up some of his work later this week...it is a straight build...and is very interesting

  1. primed and sprayed all parts...have a handful that need to be shot with clear, then another color...mass curing period, then a long go at clear coating...I hope I didn't rush to much...but..gotta do it when the weather and timing is right..

House stinks a bit...I did have garage door open 2 feet with fan blowing out...

heat is on, and fingers crossed for good results

  2. I can tell how tiny those decals are, they look great to me! Don't ya love trying to paint when it so cold outside? Best of luck! Can't wait to see what Liam is coming up with!
Love that you got the "touched" photo on the page! Matt did a great job!

  3. well...I broke a part into 4 pieces...it is the main retaining ring for the upper arm...it attaches to the shoulder, and then the lower forearm...i pieced it together around the pc part, in hope that it will dry good enough so when I slide the part in, it will hold long enough to keep the arm attached...otherwise I have a one-armed, and potentially..one legged Gundam...crap...that is over 4 weeks of work...and I still have a few to go to complete the rest of the kit..

  4. got the part in...did not paint the accent(will try to do that carefully)...I am trying to bond the retaining ring, to the part it fits in...I added thin cement ...worse case scenario...it will crumble to pieces when I put the shoulder socket in the pc part....I will try to post up some pics of this...so you can see what the heck I am talking about

  5. Still looks good though, I will comment later. I am going to try my panel wash. According to some people - acrylic is a bit of a bitch, guess I'll find out. Love the colors though and the "13" is so "wassup"!!!!! Shake, Rattle, and Roll Bro!

  6. you doing an acrylic panel wash? If you painted with lacquer, and gloss coated with lacquer, you should use enamel....according to some people...LOLZ!

I hope my paint didn't die where I tried to cement that broken part in....that would suck>>>>
